Windows 7 Launched!

The most anticipated Windows release since Windows 95, Windows 7 was launched withmuch fanfare today. With beta testers and Microsoft partners alike sharing their excitement in the speed, useability and power of the new operating system, Windows 7 is set to take the world by storm.

This morning New Zealand crowds gathered to take part in the launch events in two major centres. All Black, Richie McCaw, another famous number 7, was in Auckland, and Wellington took over from where the last Olympics Opening Ceremony left off to create two uniquely Kiwi moments. More than a dozen photographers captured these events, and you can view the Photosynths of the two moments plus images from the events.

Tiger Networks has Windows 7 available in Retail format and Open Licenses. From today all new desktops and laptops shipped with come with Windows 7 Licenses, and either Windows 7 or Windows XP pre-loaded.
